Welcome to the home of North Andover Booster Club Field Hockey!
The field hockey season runs from early September to the beginning of November and is open to 2nd-8th graders who attend North Andover schools. Changes for 2018 season - we will offer another 4 week mini session for 2nd and 3rd graders and we will have 4th graders join 5th graders in the full season instructional program. Booster Club field hockey consists of four programs (please note the applicable registration fees for each group):
2nd and 3rd GRADERS:
The 2nd/3rd grade program will consist of a 4 week mini session designed to introduce the sport of field hockey including basic rules, skills and game concepts but more importantly for the players to have fun learning about field hockey. Practice will be once a week on the North Andover High School Upper Turf Field on either Saturday or Sunday. We are leaning toward Sunday mornings. The players will receive an NABC Field Hockey t-shirt.
The registration fee for this program is $ 50. A $20 late fee applies after 7/31.
Clinic dates have been set for Sundays, September 9, 16, 23 and 30th from 9:30 am-10:45 am on the upper turf (track) at the North Andover High School.
4th and 5th GRADERS:
The 4th/5th grade program is designed as an instructional program to teach basic skills and get the players ready for team play. There is one practice during the week and one practice/scrimmage on the weekend. Practices are held on Drummond Field (behind the Youth Center) during the week and on the Upper Turf Field at NAHS on the weekend. The players receive a reversible jersey and sweatshirt.
The registration fee for this program is $80. A $20 late fee applies after 7/31.
The season will kick off on Saturday, September 8th from 9-10 am on the upper turf (track) at the North Andover High School. Starting Tuesday, September 11th practices will be Tuesdays, 4-5 pm at Drummond Field (11 Milk St. behind Drummond Playground) and Saturdays from 9-10 am on the upper turf (track) at the North Andover High School. The coach this year will be Kristi Hale.
6th, 7th and NEW 8th GRADERS:
6th graders, 7th graders and 8th graders with little or no field hockey experience play in our in-town league with small-sided (7v7 or 8v8) games. There are 2 practices each week with a game on the weekend. Practices are held on Drummond Field and the games are typically held on the Upper Turf Field at NAHS. Players receive a reversible jersey and socks to wear for games. Please note the game day/time may fluctuate each week depending on turf availability. We will let you know the game schedule as soon as possible.
The registration fee for this program is $100. A $20 late fee applies after 7/31.
Season will kick off on Saturday, September 8th from 10:30-11:30 am on the upper turf (track) at the North Andover High School at which time players will get the coach and team assignments. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 11th practices will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all teams from 6 pm-7:15 pm at Drummond Field (11 Milk St. behind Drummond Playground).
8th graders with one or more seasons of field hockey experience play against teams from surrounding towns. There are typically 1-2 matches per week, either home at Drummond Field or the Upper Turf at NAHS or away at the opponent’s field. Matches usually start at 4:30 or later and parents are responsible for travel arrangements. The schedule will be available closer to the start of the season.
